  • 200g spaghetti
  • 6 crusty white rolls
  • 500g ground beef
  • 240ml beef stock
  • 500g tomato passata
  • 200g mozzarella cheese
  • 100g butter
  • olive oil for cooking
  • 1 medium white onion, finely diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely diced
  • 1 tablespoon tomato puree
  • 80ml red wine
  • ½ tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ bunch fresh basil, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • 20g freshly grated parmesan
  • 30g parmesan for butter
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, made into paste

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté diced onions until golden brown. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
  2. Stir in ground beef; cook until browned. Add tomato puree, red wine, passata, stock, Worcestershire sauce, herbs, sugar, and parmesan. Simmer for 25 minutes.
  3. Hollow out the bread rolls and mix melted butter with garlic paste, parsley, and parmesan. Brush this mixture inside the rolls.
  4. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions; drain and mix with meat sauce.
  5. Fill each roll with spaghetti mixture, top with mozzarella cheese, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes until crispy.
