Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup butter (room temperature)
  • 2 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 4 large egg whites (room temperature)
  • 1 cup buttermilk (room temperature)
  • 3 cups cake flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Red food coloring
  • Blue food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 12-cup Bundt pan.
  2. In a stand mixer, beat butter and sugar until creamy. Add eggs and egg whites one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla and buttermilk.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine cake flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  4. Divide the batter into three bowls: keep one plain, mix red food coloring into one bowl, and blue food coloring into the third.
  5. Alternate spooning scoops of each batter into the Bundt pan until all are used. Tap gently to level.
  6. Bake for 50–70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
