Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 lbs. steak (ribeye, sirloin, or strip)
  • 1 Tbsp smoked paprika
  • 3 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (or less, to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp dried thyme
  • minced fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine smoked paprika, kosher salt, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, oregano, cayenne pepper, brown sugar, and thyme to create the Cajun spice mix.
  2. Cut the steak into bite-sized pieces and coat evenly with the spice mix.
  3. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat with 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Sear half of the seasoned steak bites for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned and cooked to your liking. Repeat with the remaining steak.
  4. Reduce heat to medium and add the remaining oil and butter to the skillet. Once melted, sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
  5. Return steak bites to the skillet and toss in the garlic butter sauce for an additional minute before serving.
